End 2011 with a Four-Figure Check Using These Ideas
It’s already December! A little hard to believe, isn’t it? It’s time to pull out your decorations, adorn your house and prepare to see family and friends. December is also one of the best times to be a publisher. We put together five ideas on how you can take advantage of the Holidays to earn supplemental income to end the year. We even provided a time estimate on how long each idea would take to implement for extra encouragement. All of them are 30 minutes or less! 1. Write a New Year Resolutions list of topics your audience may be interested in exploring in 2012. Are you a software developer interested in learning how to use Photoshop? Do you want to work on advancing your time management skills? TradePub’s Professional Development page has lots of ideas to help you improve your personal & professional skills. A “Top 5” self-improvement post would provide readers with a useful and quick read. (Estimated time to complete: Approx. 15 to 20 minutes). 2. Send a Holiday card to your list. To thank your readers for their support, add a sentence in your text pointing them to white papers in their industry they may be interested in. For example, “As a thank you, here are free [NAME INDUSTRY HERE] magazines you may find useful.” You may also want to link to your favorite free white papers blog post (see below). If you weren’t planning to send a Holiday card, we hope this idea will make you re-consider. It is an easy, quick way to earn revenue with a few minutes of time. (Estimated time to complete: 10 minutes). 3. Capitalize on the latest trends in your industry. Think of the hottest topic in your industry and write about it, adding related white papers. E.g. If you’re in the technology sector, a guide on the latest in Cloud Computing would be interesting to your audience. (Estimated time to complete: 20 to 30 minutes). 4. Post about your favorite free white papers and why. A short “Top 5” list detailing white papers in your industry that you’ve found most valuable would make a fantastic article. Provide your readers with inspiration to brush up on their market by reading during their downtime.(Estimated time to complete: 30 minutes). 5. Share one offer or your favorites list on your social media networks. This is only recommended when using offers relevant to your readers’ preferences. Here are a few suggested channels that would be appropriate:
- If you have a Facebook page for your site.
- If you’re a moderator of a LinkedIn group.
- If you have a blog or site Twitter account.
