While my face may be all over this blog and the forums, I am hardly deserving of the credit many of you give me. I'd be happy to take the glory, but the real superstars of the RevResponse program are the people working behind the scenes. Since these are the people making your requests into realities, I'll be introducing them to you over the next few months. Today, I'd like to introduce you to one in particular: Emerson. Emerson is a member of the development team located in NetLine’s west coast office. When you’re using the RevResponse promotion wizard to quickly generate offers for your audience, you can thank Emerson. He, along with a few other developers (who I’ll introduce on this blog at a later date) designed this tool. And that’s not all… Emerson also played a significant role in the development of the JavaScript widgets you find within the promotion wizard. In addition to crafting some nifty ad creatives for you all, Emerson took the lead on the new tool many of you have started using: the Site Setup Wizard. Since working his magic, you are now able to take your TradePub page and customize it to match your own site’s look and feel. Q & A with Emerson Karen: What do you like most about your job? Emerson: It has been great helping and watching the company grow from when I first started in October of 2003. K: Least? E: Not being able interact with the east coast RevResponse team more. K: What do you do when you’re not developing tools for the RevResponse partners? E: I play poker, guitar (real/video game), and go skateboarding. K: What did you want to be when you were a kid? E: A professional skateboarder. K: What would you say is your greatest accomplishment? E: Getting my college degree. K: What did you study in school? E: Computer science, math, and the beach. K: What inspired you to go into web development? E: I’ve always been interested in the web and its related technologies. I started teaching myself HTML/JavaScript around 10 years ago, and built silly homepages to test stuff out or for my friend’s bands etc. K: If you found a genie in a bottle who’d grant you three wishes, what would you ask for? E: 1. To be able to afford a house in the bay area. 2. To play the main event at the world series of poker, 3. A raise hint. If you have specific comments or questions for Emerson, feel free to post them here in the blog. We'll be sure he answers them for you!
