I'm almost afraid to ask this, for fear of being disappointed, but can I (how can I) add channel code to links NOT generated by the wizard (for example, to direct a person to a specific pub I've selected and for which I've written the copy?
Congrats on the new features. I was out of town, and won't have a chance to implement the nifty new stuff for a few days, but it looks like a great improvement (unless, sadly I be disappointed...
David, I have a request. The channel code field is WAY to small to allow meaningful designations. Could we triple it (like to 20 characters)? Otherwise I;m going to have to keep an elaborate code table as reference.
Could we triple the length on the channel code?
Not really. We have to keep it short. However, we will be adding the ability to manage channel names. At that point you can give each of your channel codes a more descriptive name that will be used in the "Report by Channel" report.
Hope that helps.

Yes, indeed. It is TWO colons. The "_t" tracking code is a three-part colon-separated code, e.g. _t=oc::zorro. The way it works is:
_t=T1:T2:T3, where
T1 = promotion source (oc=offer-catalog) - for internal-tracking
T2 = BLANK (unused) when the source is the offer-catalog - also internal
T3 = channel-code (e.g. zorro)
If you're really curious, use the Promotion Wizard and mouse over widget links, you'll see how the tracking code works in other cases.
Thanks muchly. First, having descriptive names available is an elegant solution that will work great for us. Looking forward to it.
As for the tracking code/channel issue, that's also great. I'll take a look at it when I get a chance, but any chance you could blog something on it so others can find it too?
I know it's holiday time in the U.S. so have a good long weekend/July 4.
